The clusters IT Operations, Architecture & Security, BI Platform & Data Management, Customer & Supplier Solutions, Connected Sites & Workforce, Transportation Management and Finance & HR work together as one team to support the growth and international expansions of Den Hartogh and in realizing its objectives.


About the Role

The System Specialist is accountable for the continuous operation, reliability, trouble shooting and optimisation of the system solutions that connect our workforce in the field (i.e. Drivers, Operators) and 'on-site' customers to the Den Hartogh systems. The System Specialist reports to the IT Manager – Connected Sites & Workforce.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the proper functioning and day-to-day operation of IT solutions used by the function.
  • Provide 2nd line support (e.g. requests, incidents and problems) and instruct and support users on the proper use of the solutions. 
  • Monitor and report on system performance. 
  • Identify and initiate improvement opportunities by working closely together with users and IT team. 
  • Pro-actively inform users about system changes (improvements and errors) 
  • Coordinate and support testing, implementation and evaluation of new solutions, releases or functionalities.
  • Create and maintain system documentation and user manuals.
  • Describe specifications and changes in IT solutions.
  • Liaise with software suppliers about technical and user specifications.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and periodic management reports.
  • Participate in projects and coordinate change processes.

Job requirements

About You

You are a technology savvy professional with our customers and users always top of mind. You show initiative and have a talent for problem solving and keeping the overview when it gets hectic. You get things done and you work well in a team. To be successful,  this role requires;

  • Bachelor (level) in the field of ICT, Logistics or similar.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role in a dynamic and international environment (experience within logistics is preferable) 
  • Technology driven and keeping up with the latest developments.
  • Service oriented with our customers and users always top of mind. 
  • Analytical mindset and ability to translate (complex) problems into day to day solutions 
  • Proactive and motivated to constantly improve and achieve results.
  • Team player with great communication skills.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, written and verbal.
