***SOUTHEAST HOUSTON, TX AREA***


Covering both North and South America, the role is to support both Global Liquid and Gas (50/50). The role is field-based visiting depots daily providing support to the Technical Manager to control repair quality and estimation costs. In addition, the role will work both in support of our SHEQ function through our audit / continuous improvement programs as well as with our commercial and operational teams providing technical support as we focus on growing our market share, differentiating ourselves in the market, and managing dedicated (gas and liquid) equipment. Remote work is available. 


Key Activities & Responsibilities:

Technical support for M&R and depot activities

  1. Working in conjunction with Regional M&R managers in the co-ordination and control of tank container repairs.
  2. Checking and verification of third-party depot repair estimates.
  3. Control of third-party depot repair quality.
  4. Performing emergency response role for Liquid & Gas tank containers.
  5. Assisting with transhipment of tank containers as required.
  6. Assisting with the control of damage surveys as required.
  7. Control of tank container modifications as required.


Support for tank cleaning and SHEQ activities

  1. Supporting audit program for approved cleaning & degassing stations, repair depots, and trucking suppliers.
  2. Delivering spot checks with approved suppliers.
  3. Support in the control and verification of additional cleaning costs.
  4. Periodic review of cleaning procedures for difficult products


Commercial and Business development function

  1. Providing technical support as required to Global & Gas commercial development teams to develop technical solutions in consultation with our customer base.
  2. Managing the specifications and execution of customer required tank modification / preps prior to loading.
  3. Assisting in the development of new equipment working to customer specifications.
  4. Installing equipment at customer sites for undertaking trial discharges and loadings.
  5. Training of customer operational staff in accordance with Den Hartogh operational procedures.

Job requirements

  • Qualifications in mechanical engineering preferable.
  • Previous experience in liquid & gas tank container maintenance.
  • Understanding of dangerous goods transport regulations including IMDG and CFR49.
  • Experience in sourcing supplier control, assessing, & auditing.
  • Ability to work under their own resource while being a strong team player to support the Americas.
