About the Team
Den Hartogh Scandinavia has the last couple of years been expanding rapidly, and we strive to continue this journey during the coming years. We are developing DryBulk in Gothenburg and are looking for an Transport Operator who will take a dedicated responsibility against one of our major customers and our DryBulk business in Sweden.
About the role
Your role will be to plan and execute loading and deliveries to meet, and aspire to exceed, our customer’s requirements. This should be done in a cost-effective way by fully utilizing our available resources and intermodal solutions if necessary. You will distribute and effectively communicate all operational activities within area of control on time and in the most cost effective manner. As well as build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal customers ensuring excellent operational performance.
Job requirements
- Distribute and communicate in advance all operational requirements within area of control to exceed customer’s requirements.
- Perform cross-reference checks with suppliers to ensure information communicated, understood and executed.
- Ensure all collections and deliveries are running to plan to meet customer requirements in full, with all delays informed immediately and recorded appropriately.
- Liaise closely with relevant Planners to ensure all necessary operational arrangements are in place for trial loads and special requirements.
- Ensure all fluctuations in volume are highlighted well in advance in order for them to be managed accordingly
- Ensure all operational issues are informed to the relevant parties immediately and recorded via the computer system.
- Ensure empty stock levels are monitored and checked against required target levels with all static/query units managed and moved accordingly to avoid storage costs.
- Issue weekly supplier validation and confirmation notes accurately and on time, liaising with relevant Planner / UK Ops Manager on any corrections.
We are looking for you with:
- A good ability to build relationships, and have an interest of having a close contact with colleagues both locally and globally.
- Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English
- Diplomatic and sophisticated in interactions with the internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of how to serve customers’ needs and maintains effective customer relations.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to keep overview of all activities
- Ability to work under pressure
- Proficient in Word & Excel and demonstrated competencies around IT platforms and software packages
