Within the business unit, the Finance department is responsible for managing financial operations and compliance. As Finance Manager, you will lead the local Finance team, ensure alignment with Group and local standards, and oversee all financial activities from daily operations to statutory reporting.

Position: Finance Manager – Foreign-invested company (Headquartered in the Netherlands)

The Role

  1.   Report into General Manager in the Korea office with dotted line into Group CFO

  2.   The Finance manager will take day-to-day responsibility and leadership of Finance team which can be consisting of 4 people spread across GL, AR & AP.

  3.   The role takes full control & ownership of the Finance operation and compliance for the Korea business to local GAAP and Den Hartogh Group reporting.

  4.   Immediate need to continue communication and close gap on Group vs Korea market standards/processes.

  5.   This function requires working with relevant stakeholders, like tax authorities, banks, Board of Directors.

  6.   Forward looking review of function and ability to support the business locally and globally

    The ideal Candidate

    1.   Proven experience of running Finance team in Korea market within an International Organization

    2.   Confident and Decisive to run day to day Finance business and ‘upgrade’ current function/skillset

    3.   Strong stakeholder communications skills with the ability to build strong and positive relationships

    4.   M&A experience desirable but not essential

    5.   Open minded and strong cultural fit

    6.   University degree with professional qualifications desirable but not essential

    7.   Big 4 experience ideal but must have in-house business experience as a minimum

    8.   Stable candidate

    Role level: The role could be positioned mainly either Director or Manager depending upon the candidates experience level and therefore salary level also flexible

Job requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  1.   Bachelor’s degree or higher

  2.   Advanced level of English – Required for regular reporting to HQ and (MS teams) communications

  3.   Proven experience in people management (team of 4–5 members)

  4.   Over 10 years of experience in the finance department of a multinational subsidiary

  • Key Responsibilities:

  1.   Lead external financial audits (Big 4), with experience handling year-end audits and disclosures as a mid-level manager at least 4–5 times

  2.   Support corporate income tax adjustments (in coordination with Big 4), and independently manage VAT and withholding tax filings

  3.   Manage and understand various intercompany transactions and invoicing processes with HQ/affiliates; capable of transfer pricing calculations

  4.   Oversee cash management (experience in global cash pool systems preferred), AR/AP control, fixed asset management, and monthly closing/reporting to HQ

  5.   Provide leadership and hands-on oversight of all financial operations within the Korea entity

  • Preferred Industry Experience: Shipping Lines, Freight Forwarding, Tank Container Companies
