The Role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Transport Operator to join our Continental Operations Team. You will play a key role in coordinating intermodal transport planning across Europe, maintaining high levels of communication, adaptability and attention to detail. This position requires strong collaboration with suppliers and internal teams to deliver operational excellence and provide a customer-focused service.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure delivery/loading times are achieved through effective planning, problem-solving, and consistent communication with all parties involved.
Plan and coordinate shipments in advance, securing required transport space and ensuring customer requirements are met or exceeded.
Liaise with suppliers, internal departments and customer service teams to ensure booking instructions are clear, timely, and accurately communicated.
Execute daily operational tasks with a strong understanding of their financial impact, maintaining accurate and timely updates in internal systems.
Proactively identify and communicate any shipment anomalies, volume fluctuations, and customs-related events to relevant stakeholders.
Monitor urgent and time-sensitive orders, ensuring timely arrivals at terminals and escalating any delays or non-arrivals to avoid disruption.
Communicate significant delays or short shipments promptly, offering alternatives and obtaining approval for any additional costs.
Job requirements
Successful candidates will have:
Understanding of Customs legislation is advantageous.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.
Resilient under pressure with the ability to adapt quickly to changing market and customer demands.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on building effective relationships.
Eager to learn, with a willingness to undertake training and development.
Highly organized with excellent planning and administrative skills.
Proactive, solution-oriented team player who can also work independently.
Capable of managing multiple priorities, working at pace, and meeting deadlines effectively.
